Unlike the majority of my prior releases, this one isn't a recording of a live performance. The vocals, guitars and percussion I recorded mostly in my bedroom, part by part, take by take; and everything else I programmed in a music-editing software, trying to make it sound as modernly produced as I could with my limited knowledge and gear. I decided to dedicate some time and patience to learning more about sound production and mixing, so that I could do that part of the process myself this time; partly because I felt that it was an integral part of the artistic concept of this particular song.

This one was written in my head while waiting on someone who was trying on a pair of pants in a clothing store. When I got home I wrote the guitar part, and the following week recorded a live take of just me and the guitar playing the finished song – which is what you're hearing here.

I actually recorded this back in December 2020. It was written and delivered rapidly for an online challege set by YouTube-drummer Cobus, which ran something like: write an original song around this isolated drum-track, record it, and send it – fully produced – in two-weeks' time.

This here is my Demo Tape, if you will, where I’ve tried to capture the essence of the practice-sessions I was making myself do – on and off, on my own – from 2019 through 2020. It’s crude and rough – after all, these are all live recordings from those very sessions – but I feel that it's honest, transparent – which is what I was going for in a way.
